The first day of school…it is weird having two kids at the same school with me.
Not only is Parker sliding quickly by in these pictures…. that is exactly what this summer did…wow it seems to go slow in June and then boom it was August. The kids spent a good part of their summer hanging with me at the pool or at a ball park somewhere.
Once again our family traveled to Minnesota for a week on the lake. We tried a new resort called Tamarack Lodge on Lake Winnabegosh. It was a wonderful resort, great cabin, great pool and the fishing was awesome. Andy caught 2 walleyes that were too big to keep. We caught some big northerns. The only thing we didn’t catch was a lot of little fish, like bluegills and perch. We are heading back next year so maybe we will figure that part out.
The baseball season is over. It was a great season of ball for our family. Parker had a great time playing and did a great job. Nolan had a great regular season and then was able to continue to play on the All-Star team in the “post” season. He did a great job at catcher. He was the main catcher for the All-Star team which is his favorite position to play. Now we will move on to football….AFTER vacation!

The Major Boys All-Star team has qualified for the state tournament in Oskaloosa starting next weekend. It is such an exciting time for Nolan and his friends. We get to share this journey with some of the best people and families in Boone. What a priviledge.
for the All-Star team. Nolan had a great game. He had 3 hits and 4 RBIs. One of the hits hit the top of the fence, so close to a homerun but not quite there. His Great Aunt Marcia (from California) , Great Grandma Beck, Aunt Courtney, Uncle Jason and Aunt Maggie and his cousins Charlie, Henry and Mary and grandparents were all there to watch. The next game is this coming Sunday. If they win they qualify for the state tournament.

This year was the first time that Nolan decided to put his name on the ballot for All-Stars. He made the team which has been a whole new experience for the whole family. Ball practice every night which means Andy, Nolan and Parker go to the ball field. Being new to the whole thing, I was shocked at how many Boone fans were at our first game in Alden, Iowa. The boys played great and won 14-3. Now we play on Saturday night in Boone. Should be another fun night of baseball.
