Our friends had a white trash party on Sunday afternoon. We took the boys and got into costume ourselves, but we were way out done. Everyone at the party was so trashy. I didn’t get many photos but you can imagine the whole crew was in prime form. The hosts collected broken lawn furniture from [...]

I have to get some video from this last weekend. I am really busy at home but sometimes when I am so busy, that is when I get all of the low priority stuff done.

This weekend was packed with excitement. Saturday we traveled to Davenport for some graduation ceremonies. Bobby and Amanda both graduated this year. Pretty exciting. Amanda graduated a semester early with a full career 4.0 and she is only 16 (after skipping a year). Remember Dougy Houser? Let’s pretend here for a minute…Say she goes to [...]

Tuna is really starting to repeat words. He is learning fast and can randomly apply things he has heard. At the dinner table tonight Maggie told me Tuna can say “Okie Dokie”, before I could ask where, why and how Charlie started “Okie Dokie”.

I am still finding Mushrooms in my favorite spots. Althought I am kicking myself cause I bet there are 25-35 mushrooms that I passed up on picking due to age. If I would have tried a little harder during the this last week I would have had a great harvest. I thought that the season [...]

My friend Dan who lives in Denver called tonight to invite me to ride RAGBRAI. It sounds like a lot of fun. “Dan I don’t even own a bike.” I don’t remember when I got old, I don’t remember when I stopped owning a bicycle. When I lived in Colorado as a young man I [...]

Well I just don’t think that the season is a good one. Last year I wouldn’t pick em if they where smaller than a softball. This year not so much luck. I am hoping that there is still a chance of a warm rain this week. If we don’t get it, I fear that the [...]

Today the boys got and gave May baskets to the neighborhood. Afterwards the boys and I went mushroom hunting. Well Charlie ended up with two suckers in his hands (its a long story and he is stronger than I am) double fist’n it. While we where walking on the edge of the tree line he [...]

So my parents just returned from Europe, they brought back with them Soccer jerseys for the boys. They totally rock. Charlie looks like a rugby player all stout and muscles. Charlie’s shirt has the name Ivanshitz on the back of his. I hold it up for Maggie early in the morning and she says… And [...]

Got some new hiking boots in the mail today. I have had my eye on some Scarpa boots for months. My buddy Ed lent me the latest Backpacker magazine and sure enough the pair of boots that they had listed as best over all boot (all brands all makes) looked just like the version I [...]
